SF Botanical Gardens

The Botanical Gardens offer a range of locations and endless spots for chidlren to explore. Ponds, palm trees, stone walls, a redwood grove, lots of room to run, and, when the season is right, leaves that are changing color in certain spots! This is a can’t-miss spot for a family photo session.

Best times of day: morning and late afternoon, but any time can work here!

Location: Just inside Golden Gate Park near the intersection of 9th and Lincoln.

Andy Goldsworthy’s Woodline

One of the most unique spots in San Francisco! This permanent, organic art installation features a winding column of logs snaking its way down a hillside amongst a beautiful stand of eucalyptus trees. While a non-native, invasive species in California, they make for a very striking backdrop to your family photos.

Best time of day: literally any time will look great here, and almost any kind of weather!

Location: Presidio Blvd inside the Presidio Gate

Baker Beach

Perhaps the most picturesque of San Francisco’s beaches, Bakes Beach offers a stunning view of the Golden Gate Bridge and the hills of Marin beyond.
